System temporary folders

Windows provides several standard locations where space can be automatically reclaimed by the system. These are used by some Aivia operations to guard against failure of manual cleanup. The standard paths are tried in this order:

  1. The path specified by the TMP environment variable.

  2. The path specified by the TEMP environment variable.

  3. The path specified by the USERPROFILE environment variable.

  4. The Windows directory.
