titleDoes Aivia VR support all 3D rendering modes (volume, surface, and others?)

Yes, Aivia VR supports volume rendering and surface rendering. We recognize that diverse datasets exist and have provided a number of different rendering modes, allowing you to view your data in the most suitable mode.

titleCan the VR headset be connected to any 3D software?

No. While there is an ever-growing suite of programs that support VR, it does require dedicated software development. Aivia has developed software support for VR, allowing you to explore your datasets in the VR space in our software.

titleWhich VR headsets are currently supported?

We support the HTC Vive (including the Vive Pro and Vive Cosmos) and Oculus Rift (including the Rift S) families of VR headset.

titleCan you load grayscale images in Aivia and load them in Aivia VR?

Absolutely, Aivia can handle loading of grayscale images and volume rendering in VR.

Expand
titleCan you load 4D (3D + time) datasets into Aivia VR?

Yes! Please refer to our wiki page on VR interactions for more information on navigating a 4D dataset.

titleWhat is the maximum size of data that can be imported into Aivia VR?

Datasets larger than 20 GB can be loaded into Aivia’s VR mode. Performance of larger files will largely depend on your GPU and the VRAM available. For rendering large datasets, we recommend turning off volume rendering; and creating and displaying mesh objects using Aivia’s automated and manual 3D analysis tools.

Please refer to our wiki page on Viewing large files in VR for more tips and tricks to rendering large datasets.
